Analysis of the dependency of intelligence-test item scores upon CA and IQ.

During the past 10 years, 851 children visited the Child Study Institute of Japan Women's University for educational goidance. Their ages ranged from 3 to 9 yr. and their mean IQ was 123.3 (SD of 14.8, range 85 to 165) when tested with the Tanaka-Binet Intelligence Scale (Tanaka, 1954). Fig. 1 indicates the IQ distribution. Evidently Ss had on the average higher IQs than the "normal" distribution whose sample mean was shown to be 101.7 (SD of 14.7, N = 105 1; Tanaka, 1954).
